Daimos is a moon orbiting a large gas giant called Evaltis, the only remaining planet orbiting Theimos, a white star. Daimos bears the same name as the star system in which it resides, the Daimos System.

Daimos is sub-terran size, has a slight axial tilt, slow 32-hour rotation, Earth-like atmosphere, abundant oceans, calm climate, varied geological landscape but less pronounced than Earth, low and flat mountains, shallow seas, infrequent geological activity. The moon has abundant plant and insect life but no native animal life. Daimos is currently inhabited by humans. When and how humans came to live on the moon is unknown.

Daimos has a synchronous rotation around Evaltis, meaning the same side of the planet is always facing the gas giant. This side of the planet has about an hour of darkness during the day as Daimos is eclipsed by Evaltis. Instead of darkness covering the planet from east to west, as occurs when the sun sets, darkness moves from west to east across the moon. Nighttime on Daimos is a little brighter on the planet-facing side as light reflected off of Evaltis creates a dim glow, making it seem as if it is dusk all night long.

Daimos is the capital world of the Daimos Imperium.
